Dr. Guyon has spoken at national conferences as well as internationally. She classifies her teaching philosophy using a theoretical approach, as an anti-racist social constructivist and believes that, in general, people learn best through their interactions with others and their interactions with objects.

Dr Guyon believes that the experience of the interactions can be just as important as the topics that guide those experiences. Each person has their funds of knowledge and brings both this knowledge and expertise to the conversation which can be shared and discussed, so that all walk away from the experience with a deeper level of understanding. These are the beliefs that guide how Dr Guyon creates and updates courses, programs, and professional development opportunities
